Noahs Ark Interfaith Programme

"Spiritual Crisis - Reconnecting with God"

Saturday 23rd February - 6pm-7pm


With:

Simon Perfect (Theos Think Tank, SOAS London University)
&
Sulayman Van Ael (The Ark Institute)

Noahs Ark are pleased to host an Interfaith Discussion on a topic which many adherents of the monotheistic faiths equally struggle with.

The discussion will look at what the Christian and Muslim faiths
1) define as a spiritual crisis,
2) state as symptoms manifest of such a state and
3) provide as potential remedies

Each of our respective speakers will address the above points from the perspective of their faith after which there will be time allocated for audience interaction and Q&A.

About our speakers

Simon Perfect 
Simon joined Theos ThinkTank in 2014. He is a freelance researcher and a Teaching Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), where he leads campus–based and distance–learning courses exploring Muslim communities in Britain and in other minority settings. Simon read History at the University of Cambridge and has an MA in the Study of Religions from SOAS.

Sulayman Van Ael 
Sulayman converted to Islam when he was 18. He then head out for Sudan to memorize the Quran. He studied in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Morocco, Belgium and Holland with more 50 different mashayikh. He was a professor at the Rotterdam University, Erasmus High school and was appointed as the head of Teachers by the Muslim Executive. He has his Bachelor in theology, Master (theory) in mental health, and is a counselor at London school of Economics, Imperial University and SOAS University. He is working on a video-library with more than 100 different topics and he wrote about 400 books which are being translated into English for the moment.
