Saturday 17th October - After Maghrib Prayer - 5:49pm We are delighted to host, as part of our monthly programme, Imam Abdul Latif Finch. Muhammad Abdul Latif, has been dedicating his life to teaching Islam, Quran and Arabic for the past 15 years. He was one of only 5 students to graduate from Zaytuna College’s rigorous 4-year pilot seminary program in Islamic Sciences, and then went on to receive his Masters in Philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy in Berkeley. For years, he taught in the Muslim community of the San Francisco Bay Area and online, and traveled regularly to the UK to lecture and teach in the Muslim community there. He was an Arabic and Islamic Sciences teacher at Ilm Tree, a successful homeschooling cooperative in the Bay area. He also served as the Imam of Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland for 4 years until he had to resign to focus on his Masters program and his work travels to the UK to teach Islamic Sciences . MAKE NOTE of the payment reference number as you will need this for the form below. 2) Submit the form below: Stories, Language & Life Skills - Youth Workshop Sat 20th Oct - 2pm with Ustadha Oorooj Qadri (Lifeskills Teacher, Lady Nafisa School) Ustadh Sacha Syed (Home School Teacher) **£5 per child** A unique workshop for children and young adults, using oral stories (from both Islamic and Modern traditions) as the basis for engaging ideas, scenarios and personal opinions. From which participants will learn to use language creatively and articulate their thoughts and understandings through discussion which will assist their ability to relate to and deal with real life situations. Your child will be placed in one of three age groups. The stories, language and life skills will be tailored appropriately for each group by our experienced teachers. Group 1 - 5-8yrs - 2pm START Group 2 - 9-12yrs - 3pm START Engaging 'Dilemma' Stories and Discussion Group 3 - 13-17yrs - 4pm START Each group session will last for a minimum of an hour (it may spill over 10mins). If children are dropped off, parents MUST ensure their child/ren are picked up on time, none of our teachers will be responsible for the children outside of their group allocation.
