Wednesday 23rd December -10am - 2pm (break for Dhuhr prayer) With Ustadha Anjum Kasmani (Head Daff Instructor, Desert Echo Daff School). Children aged 8 to 14 yrs only. £12 per child (includes resource pack & in-class daff use) An inspiring child focused workshop introducing them to the traditional Daff instrument. A wonderful way to ignite our children's hearts to remembrance of Allah & His Messenger (peace be upon him,). The Daff is a fantastic mode for encouraging expression in a permissible and wholesome manner. The Desert Echo teach the daff alongside anasheed, qasaid and songs of praise. In doing so, we also hope to revive the long lost tradition of Islamic poetry inshaAllah. This workshop will emphasize adab and discipline of instruction which aims to teach students the akhlaaq that goes with presenting & expressing ourselves through art and as Muslims. For children, the workshops are a great means of focusing on a new hobby, engaging and tapping into talents and skills and having the opportunity to benefit from working in teams as well! Light refreshments will be served.
