Is there a genuine need for a Muslim Community Centre? Have you considered working with other local Mosques in the Staines/Ashford area?
There is very much a need for a Masjid there are no provisions for daily salaat within a 6 mile (approximate) radius. As you would agree this is not practicable for daily salaat. This Masjid is very much needed and long overdue. Once set up it will be the first time in the history of the Staines/Ashford area that salaat and itekaaf will be established inshallah. We cannot stress enough, the importance of establishing this Masjid!

How did this come about?
The property was secured at auction on the 9th May for £450,000, with a 10% deposit. This deposit was provided as a Qard-e-Hasana by an anonymous donor. We have until the 7th June to raise the balance of the funds.
Failure is not an option, and we will continue to strive to raise funds until the last minute. This is a unique opportunity and one that would rarely arise in the near future, especially given that the building already has D1 license (place of worship). Obtaining such a license is very difficult in the current climate, given the usual stringent requirements on parking, traffic flow and environmental considerations that are attached to a D1 application.
I donated towards the centre - how was my money used?
We will commit to paying back any borrowed funds within 1-2 years. We will provide written guarantees which will be independently witnessed and legally binding. Our constitution will also clearly set out the requirement for paying back all donors within the agreed timeframes.

- Social activities for the Elderly
- Counselling services (marriage, emotional, bereavement)
- Youth Programmes
- Self Defence classes for children and adults
- Mentoring for school children
- Soup kitchen for the homeless
- Dawah activities
- Mother & Toddler Groups
