Ethics & Spirituality - The Adab of Everyday Life
Classes held on EVERY Sunday- 6pm-7.30pm*.
Starts Sunday 3rd November 2019
By Shaykh Talal al-Azem (The Wilaya Trust )
This course addresses what every educated Muslim should know: the Islamic manners and etiquettes (adab) of everyday life.
We will explore how the Sacred Law encourages us to act in a range of common situations:
- eating and drinking, dress,
- social interactions,
- how we treat animals and nature,
- working and commerce,
- leisure
- entertainment, and other topics.
In so doing, we will explore the connection between acting ethically and being a spiritual person whose heart is directed to God Most High.
The first term will comprise an introduction to the topic; food and drink; and dress. Reading materials will be sent to students before each class.
Classes are intended to be interactive, allowing for questions and encourage active participation.
Brothers & Sisters welcome.
These classes also encourage participation from teenagers and young adults.
The instructor will be provided photocopies of the necessary text each week. Please register if you wish to receive these.
